Unifiers The Idealist Personality Type of the PURE System
Caring, committed and loving individuals, unifiers represent the idealist personality type of the PURE system. Like examiners they are introverts, are averse to change, like security and think before they speak. Like persuaders they are relationship-oriented "people people" - who like to work as a team of friendly individuals.
Unifiers love to make other people happy, often to their own detriment, which can leave them feeling resentful - they do so much for others and no one seems to notice or appreciate them for it. Usually family-oriented, unifiers are the empath personality type - they put themselves in the role of peacemakers and like to be involved in everyone else's business, or at least know about it. They love to indulge in gossip and then feel guilty about having done so (whereas persuaders have no such qualms). They are good at remembering birthdays and usually make themselves responsible for making sure everyone else has remembered too. They avoid conflict and may be polite to someone's face, but mean about them behind their backs. They are the elephants of the PURE system - they may forgive, but they will never forget.
Easily distracted by emotional issues, unifiers will make it very obvious when something's wrong, although getting the details out of them is sometimes like trying to get blood out of a stone.
Famous unifiers include Marge Simpson and Bill Dauterive, and in real-life Princess Diana and Al Gore.
The unifier's motto: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
