Identical Personality Types - When Similar PURE System Characters Are Put Together

PERSUADER IDENTICAL PERSONALITY TYPES

When a bunch of persuaders get together, welcome to monkey island. Noisily talking over one another, laughing, shouting, making fun of everything and getting absolutely nothing done. In a social situation, two or more persuaders can have a ball - making up their own entertainment, finding fun everywhere.

The dark side of monkey island is either when one-upmanship comes into play or the persuaders get bored. Persuaders like to be the center of attention so they're not fond of sharing the limelight. This can lead to a battle of verbal wit which is fun to watch unless it gets out of hand and turns nasty. Not wanting to be outdone or shown up in public, persuaders can turn bitchy as hell, taking no prisoners.

If a bunch of persuaders get bored, they can get mischievous or even destructive. Left to their own devices for too long without supervision, persuaders will clown around to their hearts' content. This is fine unless there's heavy machinery around - I knew a couple of archetypal persuaders who managed to trash a warehouse when a joke got taken just a bit too far.

UNIFIER IDENTICAL PERSONALITY TYPES

When a group of unifiers get together it can go one of two ways: either they will be very supportive of each other, celebrating each others' qualities and achievements, or the whole group will descend into a pity party bemoaning all the bad stuff in their lives and having a conversation reminiscent of Monty Python's sketch where a party of northern men try to out-do each other regarding who had the worst up-bringing - each one starting his story with "You were lucky...."

Unifiers will either be extremely sympathetic of each others' situations or move right on to compare how badly off they are.

You also have to watch that they don't get too heavily involved in gossip - coffee and lunch breaks get extended with all of the clucky banter.

Sometimes timid when alone, groups of unifiers can band bravely together to resist or confront individuals and organizations that are seen as oppressive. When strong feelings are roused in a group of unifiers they can be a force to be reckoned with.

RULER IDENTICAL PERSONALITY TYPES

One or more rulers together can either accomplish an awful lot, simply owing to the fact that these high-achievers don't like to mess around and have no time to waste, or they can lock horns like a couple of bulls and engage in a power struggle - each fighting to take control of a situation.

One of the best ways to handle a couple of rulers in this situation is to divide up their tasks and not have them share anything. They sometimes don't share nicely.

EXAMINER IDENTICAL PERSONALITY TYPES

Examiners, although generally not the most sociable of the four types, can get a lot out of getting together with kindred spirits. Engaging in lengthy, generally good-natured debates and discussions, they can disappear up their own wazoos as they extrapolate complex arguments and counter-viewpoints. Unfortunately, this can result in them getting absolutely nothing done as they go all around the houses looking at things from 93 different perspectives. And if two examiners get particularly animated this can end up with a kind of Mexican stand-off - with each stubbornly repeating his or her own argument, sometimes talking over each other if it gets really heated.

In a work situation be careful of teaming up two or more examiners in case they push each other into a state of analysis paralysis.
