Four Basic Personality Profile Types
The PURE System

Like most systems of personality profile types, the PURE system classifies personalities in four broad groups: we call them Persuaders, Unifiers, Rulers and Examiners - PURE. We all incorporate aspects of each of the personality types, and display traits and behaviors of all four of them, but there is usually one that describes us most completely.

PERSUADERS

These outgoing charmers are the jokers in the pack. They are "people people", usually more extroverted than introverted, who get by in life on their smooth, easy-going manner. As their name suggests, they can be charming and extremely persuasive - in sales they're great openers, but often fall down on the close. At their best they are quick-witted, creative and full of energy with great social skills. At their worst they can be flippant, sarcastic, verbal bullies who use humor to hurt and never see a job through to its conclusion. Learn more about persuaders here.

UNIFIERS

These caring individuals are the loyal and supportive "good samaritans". They have a strong sense of social justice and although often quite introverted, will passionately defend others whom they feel have been wronged. Sometimes over-sensitive, unifiers like social harmony and hate "an atmosphere" - they will do almost anything to make sure everyone is happy at all times. At their best they are considerate and thoughtful peacemakers who always think of the needs of others. At their worst they can be moody martyrs who withdraw emotionally when criticized and can hold a grudge for years. Learn more about unifiers here.

RULERS

The no-nonsense, "get it done" personality profile types, rulers are extremely task-focused, direct individuals. They tend to be more extroverted and certainly do not suffer fools gladly. Great in a crisis, they can mobilize and organize quickly - whether they've made the right decision or not! They love being in charge and telling people what to do - unfortunately they can come across as being overbearing. At their best they are results-driven, goal-oriented "do-ers" who can be counted on to get the job done. At their worst they can be intolerant, dictatorial control-freaks who find it difficult to delegate and end up micro-managing. Learn more about rulers here.

EXAMINERS

Detailed and cautious, examiners love a puzzle. Usually happy to work on their own, they are task-focused, analytical individuals. Extremely process-oriented, examiners are problem-solvers who can spend hours checking and re-checking their own and others' work, if you let them. They love lists and information overload and they take their sweet time - don't expect a quick answer from examiner personality profile types! At their best they are excellent analysts who can find and solve problems and process complex information. At their worst can be nit-picking neat-freaks who resort to stubborn pedantry when they are challenged. Learn more about examiners here.
