Rulers The Strong Personality Type of the PURE System
Quick-witted and determined, rulers represent the strong personality type of the PURE system. Like the choleric personality type described by the Ancient Greek physician Galen who built on Hippocrates' "four humors" system of personality typing, rulers are ambitious, energetic, natural leaders. Like persuaders they are extroverts, like things to move along quickly and are not keen on a lot of detail. Like examiners they're task-oriented and stick to facts - they have less social skills than unifiers and persuaders.
Rulers are ambitious and goal-oriented. They don't suffer fools gladly and can overpower other personality types, especially unifiers who can find them abrasive. They hate being ripped off or taken advantage of and so can come across as demanding and controlling.
Fantastic in a crisis, rulers can give out tasks at the drop of a hat (although they are liable to keep checking up to see if the job's being done properly). In sales they are fantastic closers, especially if they are working with persuaders who have already warmed up the prospect.
Famous rulers include Mr Burns and Hank Hill, and in real-life Donald Trump, Winston Churchill and Nancy Grace.
